Holi 2023: What is Holi and Why Holi is celebrated

  Holi 2023   Holi is a Hindu Festival.It is the festival of Colour. The festival is celebrated almost all over the India.This festival celebrated in the Spring season.Spring season is called Basanta Rutu in Indian language.It is composed of two month Falguna and Chaitra of Hindu Calendar. This festival is celebrated for two day.In the first day Holika Dahan ( Burning of Holika ) is observed and in the second day Colourfull Holi festival is celebrated.Holika Dahan is observed on Falguna Purnima tithi ( Full moon day ) of Hindu Calendar.The Colourfull Holi festival observes on Chaitra Krishna Paksha Pratipada tithi ( First day of Chaitra month ) of Hindu Calendar. In this year Holika Dahan falls on 7 March 2023 and Holi falls on 8 March 2023 of the Gregorian Calendar.In Holika Dahan a lot of wood are kept in one place for burning. Ratha Jatra

Ratha Jatra    Ratha Jatra, the Festival of Travelling by Chariots of God Jagannatha is celebrated every year at Puri and in the other places in Odisha and outside Odisha in Bharat (India) and other places in the world. The festival is celebrated in the hindu calendar of Ashadha month Sukla Paksha Dwitiya tithi ( second day of the bright half ).The day generally falls on the June or July month of Gregorian calendar. This year Rathayatra falls on 20th June 2023.    The Sri Jagannatha temple is situated in Puri .The town Puri is present in the east coast of Odisha in India. The deities of the temple are Jagannatha, Balabhadra, Subhadra and Sudarshana. Raja Sankranti    There are twelve Sankranti in a year. According to Souramana Calendar Sankranti is the first day of the month. Raja Sankranti is one of them.It is also known as Mithuna Sankranti. Debasnana Purnima     Debasnana Purnima observes every year in Shree Jagannatha temple Puri. In this day god Shree Jagannatha bath in front of the devotee in the Snana Mandapa(Bathroom of Shree Jagannatha). The water in which god Jagannatha bath is a aromatic and herbal water. Nrusingha Chaturdashi

Baisakha Mela/Nrusingha Chaturdashi   Baisakha Mela is organized every year in the Nrusinghanath temple, Paikmal of Bargarh district in Odisha . It starts from Baisakha Sukla Paksha Dashami tithi and ends in Chaturdashi tithi.  The chaturdashi tithi is called Nrusingha Chaturdashi . This day was the incarnation day of god Bishnu(Vishnu) as Nrusingha. Mahabishuba Sankranti/ Mesha Sankranti   Mahabishuba Sankranti or Mesha Sankranti is also known as Pana Sankranti . Pana Sankranti is a puja observed in Odisha . This day is celebrated as the New Year in Odisha . So this day is called O dia New Year . This day is celebrated as the birth day of  hindu god Hanuman in Odisha. So this day is called Hanuman Jayanti in Odisha . This day is also known as New Year in Punjanb called Baishakhi (or Vaishakhi ). This day generally falls on April 13 or 14 every year.
