The puja procedure of god Marjara Keshari is something different from the other hindu god.Only Brahmachari (unmarried) Brahman can do the puja(worship). The age of the Brahman between 8 to 22 years.
According to Bishnupuran there was a King named Hiranyakashipu. God Brahma had blessed him that he neither die in day nor die in night, neither die inside the home nor die outside the home, neither killed by human nor killed by animal, neither die in the land nor die in the sky and never killed by any weapon.
Hiranyakashipu thought that he will never die and he was giving torture to the saints. He was giving punishment to the people who worshiped god Bishnu. He banned worship of god Bishnu in his Kingdom. His son Prahlad became a great devotee of god Bishnu. He ordered his son to stop worship of Bishnu. But his son Prahlad continued to worship god Bishnu. So Hiranyakashipu wants to kill his son. When he tried to kill his son, god Bishnu appeared as Nrusingha and protected Prahlad and killed Hiranyakashipu.

Due to the blessing god Bishnu had taken Nrusingha avatar (incarnation). In odia Nru means human and Singha means Lion. God Nrusingha is half human and half lion. The face of god as lion and body of god as human being. He killed Hiranyakashipu by his nail of hand in the evening by placing Hiranyakashipu in his lap at the door below the wall band. He killed Hiranyakashipu in this condition because of the blessing of god Brahma. God Nrusingha is neither human nor animal, evening is neither day nor night, by placing Hiranyakashipu in the lap he placed him neither in the land nor in the sky, the place near the door below the wall band is neither inside of a house nor outside of a house and nail is not a weapon.
